Spice Rack Bookshelves!

For my first "I can do that!" project, I saw a great idea from Domestic Simplicity that helps save space and stores Riley's books at the same time. I thought it was such a cute idea and when I saw that they were $3.99 spice racks from IKEA, I was like, "Whhhhaaaaaatttttt??!!"

So last week I looked up IKEA's website to make sure they still had them in stock. Can I just tell you that I am in LOVE with IKEA? I hadn't been there forever and I'm seriously considering going once a month just to see what other treasures I can find. Not only did I discover so many cute and inexpensive things, the Costa Mesa IKEA has a little snack bar and a cafeteria type deal and get this - kids ate free the week I was there! Riley and I sat down and had lunch together and it was such a fun mommy/daughter experience with that and walking through all the rooms. Although, IKEA if you are listening, it'd help if you installed some flashing arrows showing where the exits are or how to get back to where you came from - you could get lost in there! :)

I bought a few more things that I'm going to create things from so I'll post those once I'm done. But for now...here are the $3.99 spice racks with a coat of white paint on them and now filled with a few of Riley's books! What a great space-saving and cute idea! Thanks Domestic Simplicity! Oh, and a shout out to my hubby for putting the spice racks together and then putting them on the wall!
